Lavender was tasked by the Fairy Queen to help nurture and grow the purple and turquoise flowers of Spring in Fairyland. In her early years of Flower Fairy duties however, she focused a little too much on one flower in particular...the result was an entire field of lavender bushes, stretching as far as the eye (of any kind) can see. Several complaints from disgruntled local Gnomes later and she received a summons from the Fairy Queen. She was recognized for her talent in creating such perfect lavender specimens, given the name Lavender and gently asked to focus on other purple flowers too as the violets and lilacs were looking rather neglected. Unfortunately, this event also resulted in most of the known turquoise flowers to go extinct...oopsies. 
She now focuses on all her flower duties equally but did move in to a magically hollowed out, ever-blossoming, Jacaranda tree amongst her vast amounts of lavender bushes...which MAY be why the local Gnomes seem to keep targeting her in particular for pranks on Full Moon Day but they haven't admitted to this as of yet. 

Fairy Lavender is often on quests for the Fairy Queen to investigate how magic presents itself in the Human World. She has noted it seems to be different here, compared to Fairyland, but if you use all your senses (your heart being the most important of them all of course) you can discover there is magic all around! She believes the biggest magic of all resides in the hearts of human children in particular.
